Condominium Property Act

We've Got Our Act Together.

The Condominium Property Act of Alberta regulates how condominium corporations and condo boards govern their buildings.  It is crucial that a property management company be knowledgeable about and up to date with the Act and the impact it has on condominium boards.

Our team was an integral part of the Province of Alberta Government Minister’s Working Committee that developed the 2000 Condominium Property Act for Alberta.  We understand the Act well.  We routinely work closely with boards to ensure they are familiar with the Act and help them put measures in place to meet its requirements.

What's in the Act?

The following are some of the topics that the Condominium Property Act of Alberta and Regulations cover:

  • Condominium Plans
  • Management Agreements
  • Condominium Corporation
  • Meetings of the Corporation
  • Board of Directors
  • Bylaws
  • Powers and Duties of the Corporation
  • Documents
  • Rental of Units
  • Capital Replacement Reserve Fund

These amendments are aimed at ensuring that condominium boards are more transparent in their operations and update the rules on how condo corporations can issue bylaw fines, how owner contributions are protected, and how reserve funds are used, among other changes.

Don't Worry. We've Got You Covered.

The 2019 Condominium Property Act changes provide several benefits to condo owners that will result in an increased administrative burden on condo boards. But, we have you covered.
